The facilities at Kaltenbach Park include a picnic shelter, 2/3-mile paved walking trail, a demonstration prairie, dual volleyball courts, basketball, horseshoe pits and shuffleboard courts, a shelter house with two barbecue grills, and baseball diamond. Sports equipment is available with your shelter rental for a fee. The picnic shelter can be reserved or is available on a first-come, first-served basis when not reserved.
New playground equipment was installed in 2004, creating two play areas, one designed for preschool age youth and one for school age youth.
A small demonstration prairie is a short hike from the playground. There you will see a sampling of some of the species that once inhabited the tall grass prairies of Ohio.
Interpretive signage in the prairie offers interesting information about the plants, insects, birds and wildlife species you can see there throughout the year. One of these species is the Eastern Bluebird, encouraged to nest there with the installation of nesting boxes nearby.
