Nature Backpacks

Sign out a specially-equipped backpack to go on a Homestead Safari! Loaded with goodies like bug boxes, butterfly nets, identification books, a compass, activity ideas and more, our Nature Backpacks make your park visit extra special.

No reservation required. When you visit the Homestead, check out backpacks from the park office and go on your adventure. Simply return the backpack when you are done. Responsible person must be at least 18 years of age.

Fishing Poles

The Homestead has a stocked pond that's easy to get to and fun to fish because there are plenty of bass and bluegill. If you don't have a fishing pole, we havea limited number of poles available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis. Poles can be signed out at the Park Office for up to three hours. You must be at least 18 years old to sign out fishing poles. Don't forget to bring night crawlers!
