Perfect for picnics or parties, the outdoor shelter offers a secluded atmosphere within close proximity to the playgrounds and other recreational amenities.

Outdoor Shelter

Enjoy a pick-up game on the basketball courts, challenge your group to some sand volleyball or play a softball game on the diamond. There is also a small soccer field, horseshoe pits and shuffle board, all within sight of the shelter.

Recreational Activities

A newly-renovated playground area with several climbing, sliding, swinging and interactive activities is conveniently separated into school-aged and pre-school areas and is easily visible from picnic sites.

The Playground

Walk the dog or take a morning jog or bike ride on the paths at Kaltenbach Park. The 2/3-mile paved trail passes the playground area, athletic fields, demonstration prairie, and gazebo.

Paved Paths

Overlooking the prairie, this quiet resting spot is a great place to observe Eastern Bluebirds flying in and out of their nesting boxes.

Gazebo

The native grasses and other colorful perennials in our demonstration prairie provide a look back at a native habitat that once occupied large regions of Ohio. Our demonstration prairie is easily accessible by the paved paths and features interpretive signs.
