Honor Guard
The Washington Township Honor Guard was established to represent the Washington Township Fire Department, its officers and families at fire department funerals, parades, dedications, flag ceremonies, and other ceremonial occasions. It is the intent of the honor guard to assist all officers and their families during their time of emotional duress from the loss or debilitating injury of their loved one. The Honor Guard has been a tradition in Washington Township since 1998.
Pipes and Drum Corp
In late 1998, several firefighters from local departments, supported by donations from various agencies, organized a local pipes and drums corps. They wanted to bring a tradition, long associated with police and fire departments, to the Central Ohio area. The pipes and drum corps symbolizes pride, hard work and dedication. Over the years, the corps has grown steadily in its number of members and currently performs several times per year at formal department functions, memorial services, parades, community fundraisers, and festivals including the St. Patrick's Day events and Dublin Irish festival.
